Leadership Styles
Leadership style affects on job performance, satisfaction, stress and turnover. According to Kurt Lewin (1939), there are three major styles of leadership which he found after leading a group of researcher who were researching for identifying leadership style. Autocratic, participative and delegative are the most usual leadership ship style.
Autocratic Leadership is like a directive leader. These
kinds of leaders always want the work done. They do not give any advice to work
done but want perfect. Many people have negative ideas about this style. They
thought that these kinds of leaders are like dictators.
Participative or democratic involves one or more employees
at decision making. Employers or leaders and employees or followers discussed
to find out the best way of work. But the final decision comes from the leader.
It is a very useful style to motivate employees and get the work done properly.
Delegative leaders allow their employees to take decision.
But leaders will be responsible for the decision. This style is used when
employee could analyze the situation and determine their work.
A good leader should be a mixed of all of the three styles
according to the demand of time.
